Ms. Roque founded Houston Studewood Bus Service in June 1996 when her purchase of one school bus began fulfilling her dream of providing good quality transportation to children to and from school.
In the fiscal year of 2005-2006 HISD opened its door to small minority owned businesses in the Houston area for Supplemental Transportation Contracts with HISD. Ms. Roque has been awarded the supplemental contracts for the past two consecutive years. Based on exceptional customer service and reliability these contracts are expected to be with standing for many years to come.
Along with the contracts with HISD, Ms. Roque has partnered with the YMCA of the Greater Houston area to provide transportation year round for the after school programs as well as the summer programs that are offered throughout the city of Houston. The partnership with the YMCA is expected to increase in the upcoming years.
Ms. Roque is a member of the Houston's Minority Business Woman's Association, as well as The Better Business Bureau.
Ms. Roque is a firm believer in strong family values, and implements them into the daily operations of Houston Studewood Bus Service.
Carlos A. Rodriguez Vice President of Operations
Mr. Rodriguez has been playing an active role with Houston Studewood Bus Service for the past 6 years. The second eldest son of Ms. Carmen Roque, Mr. Rodriguez heads the daily operations and fundamentals of the company.
Mr. Rodriguez is a graduate of Reagan High School. After attending high school Mr. Rodriguez ventured into the Culinary Arts Field. After pursuing a career as an Executive Chef in upscale restaurants and in one of the countries largest hotel chain, it was then decided that he to wanted a part in the growth of the family owned business.
Mr. Rodriguez projects the fiscal year of 2007-2008 to show not only an increase in gross revenue, but additional contracts and school districts as well. Mr. Rodriguez plans on executing a business plan that will make Houston Studewood Bus Service the largest school bus transportation provider in the Greater Houston area.
Juan R. Rodriguez Executive Administrator
Mr. Rodriguez has been involved with the company since June 1996. The oldest son of Ms. Carmen Roque, Mr. Rodriguez handles daily operations of the fleet as well as dispatching and scheduling the routes.
